Condensation Control

Condensation control can help tackle one of the most common forms of damp found in UK properties. Condensation will occur in residential and commercial buildings but more often in residential. We have seen an increase in condensation related issues due in part to the energy crisis in the UK.

Failing to tackle condensation can cause a number of issues within the home but we will look at all the condensation solutions available in our guide below…

What is condensation

Condensation in the home occurs when moisture in the air comes into contact with a cooler surface, such as a window or external wall, causing the moisture to condense into water droplets.

This can be a particular problem in the colder months when the heating is in use, as the warm air holds more moisture than cooler air.

Condensation can lead to dampness, mould growth, and other issues if not properly addressed, so it’s very important to take steps to reduce moisture levels in the home and improve ventilation.

When left unaddressed, condensation in the home can lead to a range of issues. Dampness and mould growth are of particular concern, as they can contribute to respiratory problems and other health issues.

RH Preservation - What is condensation

Signs of condensation

The survey would take approximately 30-60 minutes depending on property size.

We begin by checking ground floor levels for any sign of rising, penetrating and ground water penetrating damp. First floor will be inspected for penetrating damp and condensation. We will check for any defective guttering and obvious building defects. The original damp proof course will be located to ensure this has not been bridged.

Wooden floors and roof timbers will be inspected for signs of dry rot, wet rot or woodworm. If accessible sub floor voids will be checked for good sub floor ventilation.

Wall ties can be inspected for corrosion if requested.

RH Preservation | Our Reviews

Richard was our knight in shining armour after the disaster he had to pick up at our farmhouse from a previous “cowboy”. His professionalism and expertise where apparent from the off, he did what he could as quickly as possible, offering to come back after the new year and complete the job.

He did exactly that and has left us with a couple of fabulous rooms. No hesitation in recommending him or using him again when I need to.
